The Artist Studio at One Colorado

Dec 21, 2011

From another David P. Earle project.

Perhaps the most interesting storefront in OneColoradoPlazacan be found at 24 Smith Alley. More often than not, you can’t buy anything there. It’s The Artist Studio, a collaboration with the Armory that turns the showroom at 24 Smith Alley into an interactive space. Through the rest of the year (!) the artist-in-residence is David P. Earle. As per usual, visitors are encouraged to play with toys—in this case, handmade wood puzzles that Earle made on-site using large scale photographic images, also taken by Earle. Completed puzzles get mounted on the wall. There’s a theoretical bent to the project—“space and memory,” yadda yadda—but sometimes it’s best to let the work speak for itself. You have until December 31st to assemble your puzzle.
