The Vroman’s blog just concluded a voter-driven contest to choose some of Pasadena’s best businesses.
Plenty of our favorites made the cut, including:
Best Coffee Shop: Jones Coffee
Best Gift Shop: Motif
Best Bar: Lucky Baldwin’s
Best Specialty Bookstore: Book Alley
… and a bunch more. Click here for the details.

I’m not sure I agree with the tea room – clearly I’m the one who would have a problem with that, ha. Chado has excellent tea, but the food is only so-so and the place always seems a bit stiff for me. Maybe I’m the only one who feels tea shouldn’t be stiff. That said, the wall of tea is a wonder to behold. And Pasadena got the bar right, most definitely. Lucky Baldwin’s will always be close to my heart. I do feel like I need to go check out a couple of these places again, like Book Alley and Caterbury Records. Very cool list.
I like Jones and need to spend more time there! Haven’t been at Lucky’s for a while, but used to go quite a bit. The others will be new for me. Thanks to Vroman’s (the best local business of all) for running this contest to inspire our awareness.
