Have you recently lost your job, or found yourself asking, “How did I end up here?” Here comes the Pasadena Public Library to the rescue, offering Career Transitions, a comprehensive web-based guide to career change.
Similar services can cost thousands of dollars; Career Transitions is offered free to library patrons through its website. You’ll need your Glendale/Pasadena library card to log in, but you can do it from home or by using the wireless access or public computers at any of the ten library sites. Simply click on the “Find a New Career” icon and you’re off!
Career Transitions takes you step by step through the process of finding a new career — assessing strengths and interests, exploring new opportunities, preparing a resume, finding educational opportunities and networking advice, performing a comprehensive job search and applying online. Users learn about career paths, industries, companies, job availability, growth potential and professional associations.
Whether you’re dealing with job loss or re-training needs or are simply looking toward a new career path, log on and see where Career Transitions can take you.
