Put Grandma on a Bus

Dec 8, 2010

Celebrate Grandma successfully avoiding those reindeer by giving her the hometown tour she’s always wanted. By the end of December, the holiday rush will be over for many, but here in Pasadena, we’ll just be getting started, with family and friends arriving for the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. While they’re waiting for the New Year’s fun to begin, get them out of the house by signing them up for Pasadena Heritage’s acclaimed two-hour bus tour of Pasadena’s highlights. It will begin at the historic Blinn House, cruise around to City Hall, Old Pasadena, the Rose Bowl and other historic sites before winding through Pasadena’s most interesting residential neighborhoods to see architectural landmarks and just plain great houses.

Attendees will get to stretch their legs on a brief walking tour along Hillcrest and, later, at the Macy’s on Lake—not for more holiday shopping, but to admire the midcentury modern architecture. Expert docents will tell the stories and give the history. You might even want to join Grandma—we all have a few things to learn and appreciate about our hometown.

If you’re interested, get tickets soon—Pasadena Heritage’s events almost always sell out.
