Pasadena Kids Go Glee

Apr 29, 2011

The Glee kids outside Paramount Pictures

If you thought that cello player behind Gwyneth Paltrow in the April 19th episode of Glee looked familiar, maybe she really was your neighbor. Twenty-four of the most talented musicians from Pasadena Youth Symphony (ages 12 to 14) were hired to back up Paltrow’s performance of Adele’s hit song “Turning Tables.”

You can watch the performance here.

A division of Pasadena Symphony & Pops, PYSO comprises middle-school musicians from more than 40 schools in the San Gabriel Valley. They’ve performed all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to Vienna, but going to nearby Hollywood was one of the biggest thrills of all.

The PYSO performs on Sunday, May 1 right here at home, at the Pasadena Civic. The 2 p.m. concert is free—just show up!
