“Listening as (a) movement” is a public artwork by Elana Mann “involving interactive sculpture and community-based performance” at Side Street Projects (with refreshments from Whole Foods Arroyo).
The Pasadena Museum of California Art has scene paintings from the 1930s-1960s, Christopher Miles’ painting-sculpture hybrids, and John O’Brien’s installation inspired by “meandering” along the Arroyo Seco Parkway.
These are just a few of the many shows on display this Friday at Pasadena Art Night.
As usual, City Hall is the hub for all the ArtNight shuttles and will have live music as well. Other venues will be the Pacific Asia Museum, the Norton Simon Museum, the Pasadena Museum of History, Art Center, the Armory, Alliance Française, artWORKS Teen Center (which will have free family art-making workshops), and Lineage Performing Art Center with Chris Pierce (dance, music, and soul).
Food trucks such as Border Grill, India Jones, Tito’s Tacos and Pie ‘n Burger will be at many of the major venues.
C.I.C.L.E. will host its annual ArtNight Ride, meeting at Memorial Park (Raymond Ave. & Holly St.) at 6:30, departing promptly at 7 p.m.
