On the Air With Off-Ramp at KPCC’s New Digs

Apr 1, 2010

Yesterday I got a tour of KPCC‘s commodious new headquarters on Raymond, conveniently located across the street from Jones Coffee, near Del Mar Station, and just up the street from Prospect Park‘s world headquarters. It’s a wonderful building, modern and light-filled and airy, with studios galore, a vast office space for on-air talent (said hi to Larry Mantle, who was working in his cubicle after yesterday’s show, getting ready for today’s show), reporters and producers, and a terrific auditorium that will be used for many community events.

And I’m happy to say that I and the entire EAT: Los Angeles team will be regulars on KPCC’s show Off-Ramp, starting with my appearance this weekend to talk about the increasing (and welcome) number of gastropubs in Los Angeles. (I know, the word “gastropub” can be annoying, but no one’s come up with a better word yet.) In the months ahead, tune in to join us as we share our food-loving discoveries with host John Rabe and producer Queena Kim.

Here’s the link to John and Queena’s chat with me, which will air Saturday at 12 noon and Sunday at 7 p.m., and here’s the link to the Off-Ramp blog post about this weekend’s show and our new relationship.

As for the new(ish) places I recommended: Bacaro (really a wine bar), Hudson HouseLazy Ox Canteen and The Six.
