This is not your usual small-town library event: the Friends of the Altadena Public Library are hosting George McGovern and John Dean at the Senior Center on November 2nd to sign books and give a joint lecture called, appropriately, “Talking Politics.”
McGovern, a former U.S. senator, Democratic presidential candidate and respected historian, will be signing his new biography, Abraham Lincoln. Dean, White House Counsel to President Nixon, a key player in the Watergate scandal, and now a frequent commentator on MSNBC and elsewhere, will be signing Blind Ambition: The End of the Story, an extensively updated (and controversial) new version of his bestselling account of Watergate.
It seems quite a coup for Altadena to score this presentation, which is free and open to all. Doors open at 6:30, and it’s expected to be a packed house, so get there early.
