The Lovell Sisters (and yes, they're sisters) are on the Levitt lineup for July.
Dang, somehow the summer season of free concerts at Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena has started already, and we missed the first week! Fortunately, there’s so much more to come. This annual concert series is one of the best perks of San Gabriel Valley living. Residents gather on the lawns at Memorial Park with picnics, performers take the bandshell stage, and everyone has a great time. Here’s how the nights break down:
Wednesdays, 7 p.m.: Children’s Night
Thursdays, 8 p.m.: American music (bluegrass, Latin, folk-rock, rockabilly)
Fridays, 8 p.m.: World music (French, Brazilian, West African, Indian, even Scottish-Latin)
Saturdays, 8 p.m.: Latin music
Sundays, 7 p.m.: Jazz

The Delgado Brothers
Shows we’re particularly jonesing to see are the Latin-blues band the Delgado Brothers on July 2nd; a very talented bluegrass/country group from Georgia, the Lovell Sisters, on July 9th; the West African Highlife band on July 17th; jazz/R&B artists the Harper Evans Project on July 19th; legendary and exuberant L.A. roots-rockabilly band the Blasters on July 23rd; and the remarkable Israeli-Turkish-Moroccan-Brooklyn band Pharoah’s Daughter on July 31.
And that’s just July! There’s plenty more coming in August, and lots more in July than we have room to mention here. Go to levittpavilionpasadena.org for the whole story.
