Ya gotta scratch that itch, don’cha? It’s that time of year again and the Craftsman are calling you. Pasadena Heritage‘s 20th Craftsman Weekend is approaching quickly and tickets do run out (in fact, some events are already sold out). To help you decide what temptations to choose from, you can download the event brochure, but here are a few thoughts:
On Thursday, ease into the weekend with the Old Pasadena Luncheon and Walking Tour (very civilized). On Friday, the handyman of the house—and we’re not presuming who in your household that would be—might enjoy the Woodworker’s Self-Tour Dream Drive while “the other half” joins the Exclusive Art Tour & Brunch.
This year’s 20th anniversary will be celebrated with a reception at the Picairn House on the Westridge School campus. Food and drink will be served and key individuals honored. While tasting and imbibing, recall your fondest memories and share them with your fellow Craftsman groupies.
Don’t forget the ever-popular Greene & Greene Bus Tour (did we say, you should purchase your tickets now?), as well as the delectable Craftsman Kitchens But Tour.
After Friday and Saturday’s marathon touring, maybe you’ll be in need for another reception—this time on Saturday (6 to 8:30) at the meticulously restored Manor Del Mar.
Finally on Sunday, after being lured and reeled in by this 24/7 diet of Arts & Crafts treasures, the weekend would not be complete without carting home a souvenir from the Craftsman Exposition that will feature 90 exhibitors and restoration experts (Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
And, on the 5th day, you may rest. Enjoy.
