Double Your Donating Dollar

Wouldn’t it be nice if every dollar you made was doubled? Not gonna happen…. unless you’re a lucky nonprofit that gets a matching-fund donor. That’s exactly what’s happened this holiday season to A Noise Within, Southern California’s only classical theater repertory company. It has received a $1 million “Patron to Patron” challenge grant, in which each donation will indeed, be doubled. In addition to this gift from an anonymous donor, ANW recently received a $500,000 grant from the Ahmanson Foundation and the Eisner Foundation‘s $200,000 grant, bringing its capital campaign to the $11 million mark, just short of the $13.3 million goal.

Furthermore, the theater company, which is moving to Pasadena from Glendale in 2011, has earned the five-star “Exceptional” rating from Charity Navigator, for using its funds wisely.

For donors and curious fans, ANW is now offering tours of the Pasadena construction site through its Hard Hat Sundays program. But if you’d rather enjoy a theater production than a sawdusty visit, it is staging Great Expectations and Blithe Spirit through mid-December at its current home stage in Glendale.
