Over the 20 years of the Pasadena Chalk Festival, Light Bringer Project estimates that 2,500 artists have created 3,000 murals—with over 4 million pieces of chalk.
Yeah, that’s a lot of chalk. And this weekend, a few more will be worked down to nubs.
For 9 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday at Paseo Colorado, over 600 artists will be creating their temporary works of art. In addition, there will be the Kids Chalkland where children can create their own works of imagination—perfect for an on-the-spot Father’s Day gift.
(In 2010, the Pasadena Chalk Festival achieved a Guinness World Record for the largest display of chalk art.)
