No guts, no glory

No guts, no glory

Yeah, there’s a $2 convenience charge for registering online. So worth it! Monrovia Community Adult Ed makes it easy and affordable for the over-18 set to learn new stuff, like computer programming, sewing, cake decorating, model fabrication or workplace Spanish. Classes are held two nights a week, and for most classes, you get 18 sessions for $57. This is less than a dollar an hour, people! ?Usted quiere?

My personal favorite is the popular Basic Techniques of Upholstering. Auto hounds are shut out from the fun… no car upholstery allowed. But wingbacks, ottomans, dining seats, couches, settees…. they’re all good. There was even a dental chair this semester. Strip it down and build it back up under the keen supervision of instructor Donna Martino. Last night Ms. Martino did furniture forensics on my seat’s innards, reassembling the batting and interfacing I’d cluelessly wadded up two months ago.

Registration opened January 5 for classes starting January 26. Price rollbacks are in place for the fee for Upholstery ($60, down from last quarter’s $75), plus there’s a two-for-one deal going on now. Classes available days and evenings. Materials fees apply, too, but it’s still way cheaper than sending it out to be recovered.
