A Taste of Old Pasadena

Sep 16, 2010

Take a timeout from the “what to have for dinner” game of indecision and attend the 19th annual A Taste of Old Pasadena—there’s no need to choose, because you can have it all. The $25 ticket allows tastes from more than 30 of the best restaurants in Old Town: everything from Thai to Tibetan, Italian to Indian. Proceeds from this event, which is being hosted by the Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation (PFARCF), will go to local charities and scholarships for college-bound students.

Some of the food we’ll be checking out that night include the traditional Himalayan dishes at Tibet Nepal House; the new Crème de la Crêpe Café; the vegan cooking at Green Earth; original fro-yo recipes at 21 Choices (warning: indecisiveness may reoccur here); modern American cooking at DISH Bistro & Bar and Green Street Tavern; and the excellent truffles and confections at Mignon Chocolate.

Maps and signs will point the way to participating establishments, some of which will be serving their tastes right out on the sidewalk. Note that drinks are not included, so to make the most of the evening, build in some time for a glass of wine at Heritage or a shot of espresso at Intelligentsia.

  1. This was a great event and was the 3rd year doing it. My fiance and I were absolutely stuffed with all the great cuisines.
