It’s Levitt Pavilion time. Fifty free concerts (Wednesdays through Sundays) available for consumption from now until the 26th of August at the Memorial Park band shell.

Wednesday, the 20th, will have Bob Baker Marionettes, the oldest children’s theater company in Los Angeles. Thursday will have Dust Bowl Revival, a “roots/jazz collective that merges old school bluegrass, swamp-gospel, jug-band, jump blues and hot swing.” (Swamp-gospel?)

This year will also feature the new Luckman World Arts Stage. Before every show, there will be an array of events such as poetry slams, “interactive folklorico,” and performances by LAHCSA students (every other Friday night). Additionally, there will be Thursday night jam sessions, Friday game nights, and open mic Sundays.

A new food court will consist of 3-6 trucks or carts every night, thanks to Chefs Center. Confirmed vendors are Crêpe Studio, Cutie Pie That!, Proverbs 31 Bakers, Mama’s Hot Tamales, Savvy Ranch and UHU Clever Baking.

Vertical Wine Bistro, just south of the park on Raymond Avenue, offers a “picnic in the park” to-go menu with artisanal cheese and charcuterie plates, starters like Hamachi tartare, and main courses such as roasted wild salmon and slow roasted pork.
