No, no, we’re not mad at Mom. Heaven’s no.
M.A.D. stands for Member Appreciation Days at Southland Museums. This weekend—which for this event includes Friday—a Pasadena Museum of History membership allows free admission to 20 Southern California institutions such as our own Pacific Asia Museum and the Pasadena Museum of California Art,spreading wide to include the J. Paul Getty, LACMA, MOCA, and the Hammer Museum, and even heading south to the San Diego Museum of Art and MOCA San Diego.
You’ll also receive a twenty percent discount in their stores—just in time for Mother’s Day (hint, hint, Pops).
If you’re not a member, it’s easy to sign up, and the cost ranges from affordable (the $25 Textile Arts Council – Sterling Needle or the $50 Active Membership) all the way up to being considered a “Founder” (the $1,250 Founders Circle or the $2,500 Distinguished Founders). Whatever category you choose, your quality of life can’t help but be enhanced by the wide range of exhibits and events offered at these treasured institutions right in our own backyard.
