Crossing state lines—a 1st.

Headed for Nationals—a 1st.

Let’s go play some polo, girls.

Water polo, that is.

For the very first time the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center’s 8th Grade & Under Girls Water Polo Team has qualified for this year’s National Championships and will compete in the 2011 USA Water Polo Turbo Championship Cup. They will compete this November 5th-7th at Indiana University in Bloomington.

They will be playing a minimum of five games against teams from Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Texas. “We will be competing against the best-of-the-best,” said Girls Water Polo Coach Adam Roth.

“We can hardly contain our excitement, but it’s important now that we stay focused and work even harder during practice to prepare,” stated Georgia Bogle, a two-year member of the team. “Indiana better be ready for us!”

The team consists of: Ivanna Bilaver, Lindsay Powell, Chloe Barrocas, Kaitlynne Navarro, Kiro O’Donell, Georgia Bogle, Kathryn McCullough, Maggie Ireland, Audrey Taylor, and Annah Brice.

To offset trip expenses, the girls and their families are participating in a number of fundraisers. The team also welcomes any donations.

Though you’ll be 2,000 miles away, girls, if you listen very hard you may hear us all the way from Pasadena cheering “Go Rose Bowl!”
