When I was growing up, The Wedding Singer was a bawdy Adam Sandler comedy. At some point it was turned into a Broadway musical, which is how this classic piece of drama has been introduced to younger generations. In fact, some of those youngins know the play so well, they’re performing it themselves with Theatre 360, Pasadena’s award-winning children’s theatre. Only three performances left, all of them this weekend. If it’s okay for kids to act in, it’s okay for kids to watch (though this rule has some exceptions). It was a surprisingly sweet film, and being converted into a musical certainly never made anything less sweet. Right?
