No driving up in the station wagon this time. From now on, it’s dive-in movie nights at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.

This Saturday, the whole family is invited to lounge poolside or swim and play in the shallow end of the 87 degree recreational pool while the feature film Dolphin Tale plays on the big screen.

If the temperatures keep rising during the week, we recommend you come early to stake your spot; typically a couple hundred parents and kids come to cool off after a sweltering day. As the sun sets, the pool deck lights go down and the pool’s interior lights turn on, and there’s a murmur of ooh and aah. Hello, summer nights.

Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, towels, and chairs, though no personal floating devices. Food is available for purchase, but no outside food or drink is allowed. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water.
