The Art of the Garden & Botanical Exploration

Apr 17, 2017

Two attractive options this weekend for botanical fans…

The Art of the Garden Tour

&

Not Just Roses!
A Botanical Exploration of Pasadena

Art of the Garden is a self-guided tour with 5 private gardens available for viewing in Sierra Madre, Altadena, and Pasadena.

From farmhouse to formal, midcentury to craftsman bungalow and beyond, the 2017 Art of the Garden Tour sponsored by Creative Arts Group showcases more diverse architectural styles and landscapes than ever before. Whether you resonate to exuberant displays of colorful flowers, manicured neoclassical landscapes, casual gardens designed specifically for life with our canine companions or the subtle palette of arid and sun-loving perennial landscapes, you will be inspired and delighted by this curated selection of gardens exemplifying the best in outdoor design.

Not Just Roses! A Botanical Exploration of Pasadena is hosted by Pasadena Walking Tours and Throop’s 30 Days for the Earth.

This event is held at one of our favorite places, Arlington Garden in Pasadena.

Pasadena is known as the “City of Roses,” but what about camellias? Or pepper trees? Or succulents?

The wide range of plants and trees surrounding us in Pasadena is a virtual time machine, helping us to understand historical trends, conceptions (and MISconceptions) about our climate, as well as the hidden stories of the people who shaped the landscape and lived their lives within it.

Explore the multilayered roots of Pasadena through its foliage and flowers—and come join us to celebrate Earth Day!
