The Likkel garden in Pasadena, designed by Mayita Dinos (a principal designer of Arlington Garden), is on the fall tour.

It may seem early to plan your September garden touring, but tickets to fall’s Pacific Horticulture symposium, Style & Whimsy in the Sustainable Garden, are already selling briskly and are likely to be gone within a couple of weeks. Organized by San Diego-based Pacific Horticulture, and co-sponsored by the L.A. County Arboretum, the APLD and the Mediterranean Garden Society, this four-day lovefest for sustainable gardens will take place right here in Pasadena, where gardening is a religion.

The four days will be filled with garden worship: Bus tours of some of our finest sustainable gardens, a focus on architecture and gardens (including a tour of the Gamble House), speakers, panels, hands-on workshops and a free tour of Arlington Garden. Among the gardens toured will be works by such designers as Mayita Dinos, Anthony Exter and Steve Gerrischer. Check out the schedule here.

Style & Whimsy in the Sustainable Garden
Thursday, September 23 – Sunday, September 26
Fees vary from $30 for a workshop to $159 for an all-day symposium
