What would Pasadena’s grand tour-worthy homes be without the well-kept gardens that surround them? This May, the Garden Conservancy is opening six private gardens up for public viewing as its Open Days Program comes to Pasadena. On May 1st, the Conservancy is offering self-guided tours to support their efforts of garden preservation across the country. The Open Days Program has been seeking out America’s best private gardens since 1995 and this year includes over 300 gardens in 18 states.
The tour begins at La Casita del Arroyo Garden on Arroyo Boulevard, where maps and tickets are available. The six gardens stay open for six hours, so you can make your way from one to the next at your own pace. The gardens will include a restored 1917 firehouse with a sustainable garden, a Greene & Greene estate and four classic Mediterraneans.
Also coming is the Los Angeles Open Day on May 15.
