Celebrate the Land of the Rising Sun.
The Descanso Gardens celebrates all things Japanese this weekend with flower arranging, traditional cuisine, music, and Taiko drummers.
Ikebana is the art of flower arranging, emphasizing creative expression, intention, minimalism, and focusing on stems and leaves to draw attention to shape, line, and form. The Sogetsu School of Ikebana “promotes a contemporary understanding of this art form…meditations on plant life are reflected in these arrangements on display for your inspiration.”
At the Camellia Lounge in the Japanese Garden, Patina will be serving up Japanese fare and sake, while Under the Oaks Theater will have contemporary Japanese music, followed by Taiko drummers and their “percussive magic.”
For all mums lovers, the Descanso Chrysanthemum Society is hosting its 80th annual show.
