This weekend, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium is hosting a benefit concert to raise money for the Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures of Japan, which are suffering from the devastation of last month’s tsunami and earthquake. The musical evening will feature groups Hiroshima, Quest Crew and Curd as well as performances by Paul Dateh, Terry Steele and chef Masaharu Marimoto of Iron Chef fame (who knew he could sing?).
The title “Thousand Hearts” was inspired by a 6-year-old Pasadena student’s idea to help her classmates make a thousand connecting paper hearts to send to children in Japan. Come our for an evening of music and dance for a most worthy cause or, if you’re busy Saturday night, you can make a donation online at thousandhearts.org.
