Jazz for the ALS Angels

Jan 25, 2012

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. This degenerative motor neuron disease that effects more than 30,000 Americans (5,600 are diagnosed each year) is more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Research for new treatments is ongoing and the fight to eradicate it is continuous.

This Sunday, First United Methodist Church Pasadena is hosting a jazz concert and fundraiser for ALS Guardian Angels. Any donations will be welcome and are tax deductible.

Featured bands will be FUMCO Combo, LACHSA Combo, Polytech Jazz Band and Thursday Morning Little Big Band, to name a few. The type of jazz performed will come from a variety of genres and styles, and will include standards, classics and original works.

The event is in honor of Hajime Miyasaka.
