Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D are leading the charge and the Annual Celebrity Poker Texas Hold-Em Tournament to benefit RSN (Renal Support Network) on November 2nd.
The Beat the Odds event will help people with kidney disease receive “nonmedical services to those affected by chronic kidney disease…developing their personal coping skills, special talents, and employability by educating and empowering them…to take control of the course and management of the disease.”
RSN is the host and the Glendale YWCA is the location for this event. Doors will open early—4:30 p.m.—followed by an early bird dinner and play begins at six.
A silent auction and raffle will be available throughout the evening and the jazz, classical, and pop music group Quattro will be performing.
Other notable personas on hand will be Maureen McCormick of the original Brady Bunch (Marcia, Marcia, Marcia), ABC7 anchor Phillip Palmer, character actor Stuart Pankin, Martha Smith (“Babs” in Animal House), and the venerable Alex Rocco (“Moe” in The Godfather and “Salvatore” in The Wedding Planner).
