Not unlike the rest of the country, Pasadena comes up against the issues of affordable housing and homelessness.

This Wednesday, April 18, an expert panel will discuss and examine “the issues and controversies surrounding affordable housing and how it relates to homelessness.”

Yudie Fishman, co-chair of the Social Action Committee of Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center, states, “It is a very complex problem and we felt our starting point needs to be educating ourselves as to the issues right here in our own community.”

The panel will consist of Michelle White, Executive Director of Affordable Housing Services; Peter Dreier, E.P. Clapp Distinguished Professor of Politics and Chair of the Urban & Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College; and William K. Huang, Director of Housing for the City of Pasadena. Arnold Siegel, Board Chair of Union Station Homeless Services, will moderate.

The discussion is open to the public and a reception will follow.
