Clean Street Food ? Baby’s Badass Burgers? Mango Tango? Sounds like food truck action!
The Rose Bowl Aquatic Center is hosting the Food Truck Rally September 30th. That’s this coming Friday evening, so get ready to start the weekend with some good eating.
How about a cougar burger made with aged beef and dressed with St. Andre cheese and black truffles? Or pan-seared crab cake sliders with lemon-herb Aioli and red cabbage salad on a Hawaiian roll? Cool off with a cherry Italian ice with real chunks of cherries or a velvety coconut creme mixed with actual shavings of coconut. Step into the unknown with a Kogi kimchi quesadilla or calamari taco with a side of short ribs. Maybe sink your soul into a brie melt with smoked pork loin and peach preserves on black peppercorn potato bread.
This is a fundraising event for the RBAC, which was built in 1989 and hosted the prestigious 2008 US National Diving Championships. The center offers swimming instruction for all ages, training and competition (water polo, swim and dive teams), recreational lap swimming, therapeutic water aerobics and warm water exercise, regardless of an ability to pay (through their scholarship fund). For those looking for activities outside of the water, they also offer yoga, boot camp, and CrossFit.
Enjoy the surroundings of this spacious facility as a DJ fills the air with music and you circle the pools tasting the gourmet fare from award-winning innovative food trucks: The Grilled Cheese Truck, the Kogi Truck, Mango Tango, Clean Street Food, and Baby’s Badass Burgers. You can eat your treats swaying to the music and watching a diving demonstration from their five, seven, and (gulp!) ten meter platforms.
