What is it about Greece? Some people say it is, or was, a paradise of willful innocence, radiant with the charm of the archaic. We’re not quite as romantic as all that, though we do like Greek Weddings. And we love Greek food, which makes this weekend’s Pasadena Greek Fest a tempting outing indeed. Santa Anita Park may not be Astoria, but we’re still expecting some top notch spanikopita, which is a both a fun word to say and thing to eat. In addition to Greek food and pastries, there will be live Greek music and folk dancing, Greek wine (and probably ouzo), cooking demonstrations, historical and cultural exhibitions, and kid’s games and carnival rides—all of which you can have access to for the exceedingly reasonable price of $3. A full schedule of events can be found here.
