Our motto at Hometown-Pasadena: there’s no such thing as too much Shakespeare. Get your bardic fix this Saturday at Descanso Gardens, where the California Shakespeare Ensemble will be making their debut performance: a staged reading of Twelfth Night, which is, you know, a good funny play. The CSE strips everything down: no “fairy costumes,” as they call them, or artificial inflection—just an emphasis on story and drama. Shakespeare in the park, you could say.
Editor’s Note: The California Shakespeare Ensemble will also be present and performing at LitFest Pasadena, the first community-wide book festival, to be held in Central Park on Saturday, May 12. For more info on the event and scheduling, visit litfestpasadena.org.
