Beer is wonderful, a fact which borders on self-evident. As Californians, we are fortunate to have so many fine craft breweries in our midst, including the extremely local Craftsman Brewery and Eagle Rock Brewery. And as Pasadenans, we are fortunate to have so many fine establishments in which to drink all this fine craft beer: T Boyle’s, the Yardhouse (say what you want about the food, ambience, and décor, but their beer selection is mighty fine), and, of course, Lucky Baldwin’s, of which there are now three (3!) locations: the original in Old Town, the Delirium Pub in Sierra Madre, and, as of very recently, the Trappist Pub and Café, just a block or two east of PCC on Colorado. All three locations will be going whole hog for St. Patrick’s Day, serving up unwholesome quantities of Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, and Guinness (and probably green beer as well), but the Trappist Pub, as the newest, is least likely to be a total disaster area—so yours truly will be patronizing the Sierra Madre location.
