PlayWriteGirl Benefit at the Pasadena Playhouse

Apr 30, 2009

playwritegirlThe fantastic Los Angeles-based organization WriteGirl, which pairs teen girls with professional women writers as mentors, is creeping east. Sunday evening it will be taking over the Pasadena Playhouse for PlayWriteGirl, a performance, food-and-wine tasting, and silent auction, with all proceeds going to the program. Such celebrated actors as Angela Bassett and Annie Potts will perform scenes and monologues written by girls at a workshop earlier in the day. The performance will be preceded by a silent auction and a reception featuring food and drink from Mozza, Canele, Little Dom’s, Sweets for the Soul, Silverlake Wines and many more. WriteGirl’s goal is to raise money and support to bring theater pieces written by girls in the program to the San Gabriel Valley for the 2009-2010 season. Hometown Pasadena’s own Skylar Sutton is a WriteGirl volunteer — look for her at the event and say hello!
