A Taste of the Pasadena YMCA

May 6, 2009

This week Pasadena is brimming with food and festivities for good causes. The third annual Pasadena Platinum, benefitting the Pasadena YMCA, will take place this Thursday. Showcasing some of Pasadena’s most popular restaurants and auctioning off lavish resort vacations, the evening will raise funds for the Pasadena YMCA, which serves more than 2,000 families and children a year. Participating restaurants include BarCelona, Dona Rosa, Magnolia Lounge, Mi Piace and Twin Palms, among others. Come for the  benefit, the food, or an excuse to come see the just-opened new Convention Center.pasadena-platinum

  1. Paul Lundquist says:

I have an old staff photo from my deceased father’s stash I have identified as taken at the old YMCA on Holly Street sometime before 1941. The photo contains images of 24 people with identities written on the back.
If there is a historian who might be able to further date the photo for me I would be willing to share the picture with them for posterity. Please have interested parties contact me at the email address above.

  2. Paul, you should contact the Pasadena Historical Society. I’m sure they would be delighted to have that photo. They have a fine library and archives.
