We spent a lot of time trying to come up with a wine joke to make this event go down easier, but really, it doesn’t need one. Furthermore, wine isn’t funny. Especially pinot. It’s serious. PinotFest, which kicks off this Saturday and runs through February 11th, is deadly serious. The Kickoff Dinner is a six-course extravaganza at the Altadena Town & Country Club, featuring courses from six different chefs paired with hooch from six different winemakers. The chefs are local heavy-hitters: the top dogs from Elements, Bistro 45, Noir, and the Raymond are all doing a course. The menu is here. And did we mention it’s for charity? Yes, it is: Hathaway-Sycamores Child & Family Services is the beneficiary. Tickets are steep, and we’re not sure what the VIP package gets you ($179, a mere $30 more), but the whole thing looks amazing, and it’s for a good cause. Time to rock out with your pinot out.
