Party on North Lake

May 15, 2009

Altadenans will get a chance to celebrate their community this evening (Friday) from 4 to 9 at an open house sponsored by the newly formed Altadena Arts Coalition, comprising business owners on and around North Lake. Galleries, cafés and shops from New York Drive to Altadena Drive will be open late (as Petrea from Pasadena Daily Photo noted, 9 p.m. is late for Altadena!), bands will be playing music, there will be good food (Bulgarini Gelato, Amy’s Patio Café and Pastries by Nancy are among the participants) and galleries will have openings and happenings. Some of the goings-on to check out:

Classic cars at Ronnie's Auto

Classic cars at Ronnie's Auto

•  A classic car show at vintage service station Ronnie’s Autotomotive
•  A “Blogger’s Café” at Webster’s Fine Stationers, at which locals can have coffee and snacks with such engaging local bloggers as Tim Rutt (Altadenablog), Petrea Burchard (Pasadena Daily Photo) and Susan Carrier (Open Mouth, Insert Fork)
•  An opening for a new group show at Gallery at the End of the World
•  A rockin’ performance by Steve Salinas and the Dispositions at Altadena Hardware

We’ll be there, and we hope you are, too.

I was so sorry to miss it. I had a window between 4 and 6 to attend, and that window slammed shut about 3. It sounds like it was a big success!

Oh, a great time was had by all! Keep your eyes open for the next one!
