Sounds kind of like a cult, doesn’t it? But no, it’s a solo art show of new citrus crate label paintings by Dennis Ziemienski. The series, you may have already gathered, draws inspiration from California’s old-timey citrus crate labels, which are quite striking. Ziemienski’s works are large-scale oil on linens—fine art reinterpretations of classic American iconography, a familiar trope by now, but one with some juice still in it. The opening reception for the exhibition is this Saturday evening, but the exhibition itself runs through the last Saturday in October, at the Michael Hollis Fine Art Gallery in South Pas.
