Matisse at the Norton Simon

Published: Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

It’s hard not to love a little Matisse. The Norton Simon is currently exhibiting a series of illustrations the artist put together for a collection of love poems. He selected and updated poems by the French master Ronsard and proceeded to illustrate the text. The culmination of seven years of work, Florilege des Amours de Ronsard is an important part of Matisse’s career. The lithographs will be on display until June.
