Lives of the Civil War at the Huntington

Oct 16, 2011

It’s easy to forget how much stuff goes on at the Huntington: art and design stuff, botanical stuff, historical stuff. And Tai Chi! All this stuff is pretty cool, and there’s a lot of it going on on any given day, but our eye has just been caught by a conference on the Civil War taking this place this weekend. Convened by Gary W. Gallagher of UVA and Joan Waugh of UCLA (or Oova and Ookla, if you like), the conference will offer fresh perspectives on a number of marquee Civil War players, Grant, Douglass, and LaSalle Pickett among them. To register, shoot an email to or call 626.405.3432.
