Kenton Nelson Speaks to the Masses

Kenton Nelson, “For The Sake of Clarity,” 1996, oil on board, courtesy of artist.

Kenton Nelson, as if you didn’t already know, is a Very Big Deal around these parts. Something about his neo-WPA style absolutely screams Pasadena. The Castle Green turret used to be his studio, but now he resides in a compound of old cottages off the Arroyo, in an artists’ colony of his own making.

He’s giving the next Friends of the Gamble House lecture, near the end of the month: January 29th. We mention it now because, given what a Very Big Deal he is, the lecture is likely to sell out. Following the lecture is a tour of his studio and grounds, though it requires a separate ticket.
