Grüp Shö at the End of the World

Aug 30, 2010

Hometown Pasadena really likes the Gallery at the End of the World, way up on North Lake. Hometown Pasadena also really likes Lynne McDaniel, who paints good. Ipso facto, Hometown Pasadena really really likes that Lynne is the featured artist at this weekend’s GatEotW show. It’s on the calendar simply as “Art Bender weekend,” which already sounds like fun. The details do not disappoint: Thursday is an Artist Reception from 6 – 9 p.m., followed by the First Friday Art Club Opening from 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. ($5 cover). Saturday is a barbecue potluck—bring your own beef—and Sunday is brunch. Joining Lynne in the exhibition—it is a group show, after all—are 40 other artists, including most of the Gallery’s resident artists and its director, Ben McGinty. Live music every day, too: performances by Single Track, Wreck&Sow, Chop Chop and HB3, one a day from Thursday to Sunday. And we’re assured that a sword-wielding belly dancer will make an appearance Friday night, which is worth the $5 cover all by itself.
