hookIn late August, nothing’s better to escape the Pasadena heat than an air-conditioned movie theater — except a movie theater in a pool! For some summer fun the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is screening movies poolside, and this weekend’s family-friendly flick is the Robin Williams classic, Hook. You can show up as early as 6:30 p.m. to swim; admission then is $2 for adults and $1 for kids, but after 7:45 admission is free, so dive on in and watch the screening, which starts at 8:15 p.m. Bring proper swimming attire, a towel and a chair, but no food or drink (the concession stand inside will be well stocked). Watch from the deck or the pool. First come, first served, so arrive early!

Saturday, August 29
8 p.m.
Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, 360 N. Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena
