Hybrid, biodiesel, CNG, ethanol, water-wise.
These are just a few of the technologies you can learn about, learn more about, and finally define…what does compressed natural gas (CNG) even mean?
Come find out at the Clean-Air Car Show & Green Living Expo this Sunday in South Pas. You’ll see alternative fuel vehicles spurred to run by all those techno-sounding methods mentioned above, and there will be workshops for what they call “green-living practices” such as composting and water-wise landscaping (10:30 a.m. for newbie gardeners; 1 p.m. for experienced gardeners).
Green-living exhibitors will be on hand with their eco-friendly household goods and you can learn about solar energy systems for your home.
Invest in a raffle ticket or two and you could win an electric lawnmower or a high-efficiency washer (perfect for the teenagers in your house) or a natural-gas log set, which includes installation.
The event is presented by the City of South Pasadena, South Coast Air Quality Management District (aqmd.gov), along with the Tournament of Roses Cruz’n for Roses Hot Rod and Classic Car Show.
For a sobering incentive to attend this event and then implement what you learn: the United States represents only 4.5% of the world, yet we produce 20% of the worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
