That’s the Altadena Town and Country Club to you. The show—“At the Foothills of the San Gabriels” (a nice pairing of name and place)—kicked off September 1st, but the opening reception is this Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. The CAC, as regular readers know, is a little more than a hundred years old now, and remains dedicated to supporting “contemporary-traditional fine art,” which more or less refers to the work of the academic descendants of the early California Impressionists—Franz Bischoff, Carl Oscar Borg, etc—both founding members. They are notorious (at least in my head) for aptly titled exhibits—we’re guessing this one will feature paintings of the foothills of the San Gabriels.
