Books & Grilled Cheese, Oh Boy!

The harvest melt, with roasted butternut squash and sauteed leeks

You may think you know the best Thai market in Hollywood, noodle house in San Gabriel, wine shop in the Valley, and French restaurant in Culver City, but even the most diehard foodie doesn’t know it all. Hence the arrival of the book EAT: Los Angeles 2010: The Food Lover’s Guide to Los Angeles. Created by a team of savvy food journalists, the colorful handbook is newly in its second edition and has become the go-to resource for everyone who lives in the greater L.A. area and loves to eat.

Most of the team behind the book are appearing at Vroman’s on Tuesday, March 9th, at 7 p.m., and they’re bringing along a special friend: The Grilled Cheese Truck. Arguably the hottest truck in town right now, the Grilled Cheese will have free samples at the signing for attendees, and it will also be parking in the Vroman’s lot for your dining pleasure. Because of Pasadena’s tricky health regulations, gourmet food trucks are rarely found in city limits, so this is a treat. Grilled cheddar with barbecued pork… trust us, you haven’t lived until you’ve tried it.

Among the EAT: LA team to appear will be Colleen Dunn Bates, Jean T. Barrett, Linda Burum, Miles Clements, Pat Saperstein and Amelia Saltsman. Between them they have written numerous books and have covered L.A. eating for everything from the Los Angeles Times to Bon Appetit to the city’s best food blogs. Bring your questions and your discoveries to share.
