Pasadena Critical Mass Bike Ride
Saturday, July 18, 10 a.m.; ride departs at 10:30 a.m.
Coming up is the third Saturday of the month, which means it’s time for everybody’s favorite local anarchist’s event, the Pasadena Critical Mass bike ride. A cheerful group of cyclists of every age, shape and outfit meets at Memorial Park (Walnut and Raymond) in Old Pasadena and sets off on an easy-paced ride through town for about an hour or so. Kids with helmets are welcome, as long as they can ride in a straight line (swerving into traffic being ill advised).
Critical Mass is “an event that is also a movement,” a group with no leaders whose goal is to encourage cycling and inspire cities to make themselves more bike-friendly. If you haven’t ridden with the Pasadena cyclists, you’ve probably seen them, so here’s your chance to join the fun.
