Robin’s Wood-Fire BBQ

Feb 12, 2010

robins bbq 300x225 Robins Wood Fire BBQ Robins Wood Fire BBQ East Pasadena Barbeque American photoBlues on the stereo, wood smoke in the air, ribs on the table . . . this is living. Barbecue zealots (and they are many) argue ceaselessly on web sites like Chowhound.com about which places are best in Southern California; Robin’s usually rates highly, and it deserves to. The meats are smoked over mesquite and hickory, and they’re appropriately tender and soaked with flavor. A swell kids’ menu (kids eat free on Wednesday night!), good sides (blueberry cornbread, pecan cole slaw. baked beans), fun retro sodas and beer (Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap!), a kitschy Americana décor and friendly waiters make the wait for a table seem well worth it. Sunday night is all-you-can-eat-night.

395 N. Rosemead Blvd., East Pasadena, 626.351.8885, robinsbbq.com, American/Barbeque. L & D Tues.-Sun. Full bar. AE, MC, V. $$-$$$
