You cannot call yourself a true Pasadenan until you have had a Dianne salad, whether you eat it on the popular outdoor patio, in the bright, casual-café interior or, as so many locals do, in a to-go version at a board meeting. A version of a Chinese chicken salad, it is simply impossible to stop eating (order the “dinner” size—the full size is monstrous), and dieters be warned—it is not a low-cal salad. The rest of the Cal-American menu is just fine (we like the chicken Caesar and the zucchini bread), but it’s the Dianne that makes Green Street memorable.
