Artisanal L.A. began four years ago with spring and fall shows featuring creators of edibles from all around the country. The Artisanal Holiday City Market expands on that idea and will be held in Old Pasadena with six vendor areas sprinkled along the streets and along the pedestrian alleys. Apparently, 150 independent businesses and 150 artisans will be selling their wares—will you be one of them?
The Holiday Market is looking for independent “makers of things”; products such as edibles, crafts, jewelry, apparel, kids’ products, pet products, print and stationary, kitchenware, gardening equipment including plants and seeds, and bath and body products. The “facts” section of the event vendor page even suggests composting supplies, “items relevant to the ‘foodie,’ and utensils. Only products made in the U.S.A. are eligible.
Booths start at 10×10, increasing by ten (another pop up), and ten again until reaching 10×40. Cost runs from $350 for 100 square feet in a “copper” location to $1,750 for a 400 square foot booth in a “gold” location. A $20 non-refundable application fee is required, and if a vendor is accepted, a City of Pasadena business license fee of $50.84 will be applicable. If a vendor sells packaged food, a temporary health permit must be purchased for $97.00.
The hours for Holiday Market are 11 a.m-10 p.m. on Saturday, December 6th. Load-in begins at 7 a.m., and take-down begins at closing.
Vendor applications (find PDF here) are due by November 15th at the latest.
