Altadena Hardware was honored as Business of the Year, by the Altadena Chamber of Commerce.
Quoting Altadena Patch – “Altadena Hardware and the Orlandinis (who are the owners) also give back to the community in many ways. They have helped the Pasadena Waldorf School Elves’ Faire, the local Church World Service CROP Hunger Walk, the City of Pasadena’s Human Service and Recreation Deparment for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Pasadena Christian School, the Altadena Guild of Huntington Memorial Hospital, and the Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena, among other. And, Paula [Orlandini] says, “We are always willing to help Boy Scouts and Girl Scout”.
In addition to the sorts of things we need for the care and upkeep of our homes and work places, they also have a small, but nifty, area by the register that has books folks might find fun and interesting.
Glad to share that my book, “Latinos in Pasadena”, is on one of those shelves.
Please drop by Altadena Hardware or Webster’s Fine Stationers to get a copy. There’s a lot of local historical narratives in those 180 or so pages. Most of those stories can’t be found except in bits in pieces in other fine local histories.
The pictures are beautiful and very home grown.
