Toddler Treks with Acorn Bear and seasonal craft making can be found at Descanso Gardens‘ Harvest Festival October 19-20th.
“Small fry and adults alike” are invited to dress up as fairies, superheroes, or anything desired and join in in the costume parade through the Gardens.
A musical hour at Under the Oaks Theater with Heidi Swedberg encourages everyone to “bring your ukuleles and jam.”
For gardens: Hay or straw bale gardening is an innovative way to create an above-ground contained garden. No digging involved, no weeding, no stooping over—it is great for those with limited mobility. Best of all, after you’ve harvested your crops, the bale breaks down into organic matter. (Hay Bale Gardens, both days, 11:30 a.m. at Maple)
To satisfy the palate, Patina Chuckwagon will be on hand “with hot dogs, corn, and other hearty fare.”
